Little Insecure is a miniature live portrait series done in oil, depicting the women leaders of Valparaiso University's Art Department. These women are a major influence in the Valparaiso art community and for decades have shaved their heads annually in order to raise awareness of breast cancer and what has become known as the ‘pink tax’ on feminine products. Each painting in the series was completed in 15 minutes, capturing the vulnerable sides of these women while sharing their feminist experience as traditional artists in living and working in contemporary times.
